Four Days Marches or not, the third Wednesday of July is and will always be 'Roze Woensdag' (Pink Wednesday)!

Laura, board member of the COC in Nijmegen, led the way during the Pride Walk on Pink Wednesday.

Pink Wednesday is now one of the highlights of the Four Days Marches, the incentive for starting the pink festivities was less fun though. In the early 1980s, anti-gay riots arose during the Vierdaagsefeesten. In reaction, advocacy groups organised alternative festivities. These grew to become one of the largest and most well-known LGBTIQ+ events in the Netherlands.
